And the answer to that is, yes, Kindle has sales! And they even have some pretty epic sales from time to time. Here’s when you can expect to see Kindles on sale for their most discounted price:
- Valentine’s Day: In past years, Valentine’s day has occasionally brought fairly good prices on Kindles and tablets. Sometimes these sales aren’t as good as other sales throughout the year, but if you’re needing a new Kindle now and/or are not wanting to wait until later in the year, then February is a good time to check to see if they’re running any deals on Kindles.
- Prime Day: Kindles tend to go on sale for really good prices on Prime Day, which usually takes place in July. This is often the best deal on Kindle you’ll see all year (though sometimes Black Friday can equal the deals). - Black Friday/Cyber Monday: In the lead up to and the week surrounding Black Friday and Cyber Monday, you’re also practically guaranteed that you’re going to get a great deal on Kindles. 1. What is a good price for a Kindle?
This is hard to answer, as there are so many different models of Kindles and options for buying them.
You could go with the basic Kindle, the classic Kindle Paperwhite, the Kindle Scribe, or the higher-end Kindle Oasis. You could get your Kindle with less storage capacity or more capacity. You could get the Kindle on its own or with a bundle that includes a case and charging cord.
With so many options, it’s hard to say what a “good price” for a Kindle would be. But in recent years, we’ve seen on average a discount of around $45-60 for the Paperwhite (depending on what options you choose) and around $90-140 for the Kindle Oasis (again, depending on options you choose).
The lower range mentioned here tends to be for the more basic models, on their own, with less storage capacity, and the higher range is for more bells and whistles and for bundles. Hopefully this gives you a starting point in determining a good price for a Kindle for you!
2. How often are Kindles on sale?
Kindles are generally on sale at least in February, July, October, and November, so they tend to be on sale every couple of months.
The sale prices offered at each of these times can vary, but buying them on sale for any amount of is always better than buying them full price!
3. Should I wait for Kindle to go on sale?
This is something only you can answer for yourself, but in general I would say yes you should wait. Why? Well, sales come around fairly frequently (usually every couple of months), and you can save a good chunk of money by waiting.
However, if you’re in need of a new Kindle right away or for a gift for someone, then there’s no reason not to go ahead and buy. But if you’re able to hold off a little, then you can definitely save some money.
